How the calculation works
The three quantities relate by speed = distance ÷ time. Rearranged: distance = speed × time and time = distance ÷ speed. Pick what to calculate and fill in the other two fields.
Examples
- 240 km in 3 h: speed = 80 km/h.
- At 60 km/h for 90 min: distance = 60 × 1.5 = 90 km.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert km/h to m/s?
Divide by 3.6. E.g., 72 km/h ÷ 3.6 = 20 m/s.
Do the units need to match?
Yes. Speed in km/h needs time in hours and distance in km. Mixing units gives wrong results.
Average or instantaneous speed?
Average: total distance over total time, ignoring mid-trip stops and variations.
