How the calculation works

Each die is rolled from 1 to the number of sides, right in your browser. The total is the sum of the dice plus the modifier. Notation: 2d6+3 = two six-sided dice plus 3.

Examples

  • 2d6 = two six-sided dice (result 2 to 12).
  • 1d20+5 = one twenty-sided die plus 5 (common in RPGs).

Are the dice fair?

Yes, every side has an equal chance. Click "Generate again" to roll again.

What does 2d6+3 mean?

Roll two 6-sided dice, add them and add 3. It is the standard notation in RPGs and board games.

Most likely sum with 2d6?

Seven — more combinations make 7 (six ways) than any other total. The extremes (2 and 12) are rarest.
