How the calculation works
Pressure is force per unit area. The conversion goes through the pascal (Pa), the SI unit (1 Pa = 1 newton per m²).
Equivalences
- 1 kPa = 1,000 Pa · 1 bar = 100,000 Pa
- 1 atm = 101,325 Pa ≈ 1.013 bar (sea-level atmospheric pressure)
- 1 psi ≈ 6,895 Pa · 1 atm ≈ 14.7 psi
- 1 mmHg ≈ 133.3 Pa (used for blood pressure)
