Business days between dates calculator

Count the business days (excluding weekends) between two dates.

Business days

Calendar days (inclusive)218
Weekend days62

Counts Monday to Friday, including both dates. Holidays are not excluded.

How the calculation works

Business days are the working days: Monday to Friday. The calculator goes through each day between the two dates and counts only those not on a weekend.

This is what matters for commercial, legal and banking deadlines, usually counted in business days, not calendar days.

Step-by-step example

From a Monday to the Friday of the next week: 12 calendar days, but only 10 business days.

Note: holidays are not included, since they vary by city and state. Subtract them manually if the range crosses one.

Examples

  • A "5 business days" deadline from a Wednesday: due the next Wednesday.
  • A month (30 calendar days) has, on average, ~22 business days.

Frequently asked questions

Does it include holidays?

No — it only removes Saturdays and Sundays. Holidays vary by region; subtract them manually.

Does the start date count?

It depends on your deadline's rule. Many contracts start counting the next business day — check the clause.

Business day vs calendar day?

Calendar days count everything; business days skip weekends (and, in practice, holidays).
